Happy Halloween! Or close enough! There has been a lot going on behind the scenes bookwise. I emphasize, behind the scenes—for those of you on my team waiting for Findley Black and the Reaper of Shivelly Park, it’s coming, I promise!—and I’ve been trying to juggle writing and edits, all while my entire household has fallen like dominoes to COVID. It was a good run. Quite honestly, with three kids in school, I’m surprised we make it this long.
I wanted to take a few minutes away from going through my editor’s edit this evening to let you know about JMS Books’ Halloween Trick or Treat Sale!
If you’re looking to pick up some eBook bargains—who isn’t?—here is a chance to grab them for 40% off.

UPDATE
I also wanted to update you on the JMS Books Advent eBook giveaway running in December.
The bad news is that with a handful of last minute story deadline withdraws—and not enough new stories to cover all twenty-five days—JMS Book won’t be able to give away all new releases for this year’s advent giveaway.
The good news is that Smoke’s release date has been moved up to November 19th, so that it can still be part of the advent. Yay! I haven’t been assigned an advent day yet, but I expect to know very shortly. And, once I have that information, I will pass it on to all of you.
Smoke
Wyatt Calder is trapped -- in a rundown neighborhood, in a dead-end job, by the endless string of trouble his brother drags to their door -- and it seems he’s destined to slowly fade away within the aging walls of Picket House, longing for his best friend's cousin. That is until his upstairs neighbor Abel Walters dies on the staircase just outside Wyatt’s door.
Saalik has spent most of his existence asleep and waiting for the next person to discover his bottle and claim their wishes. And the last four years playing prized possession to Abel Walters and spying on the downstairs neighbors. But he has a plan. And, like every plan worth planning, it has taken patience. But if life as a Jinn has taught Saalik nothing else, it’s taught him that.
When a break-in sends Wyatt out his second-story bedroom window and into his dead upstairs neighbor’s apartment, he finds more than a place to hide. He discovers a magical solution to all his troubles.
Or does he? Because really, when is life ever that simple?
I don’t have an excerpt on my website yet—I’m waiting for my edits to be finished—but you can check one our on the publisher’s site HERE.
GIVEAWAY
Last, but not least, this Monday is Halloween. It’s also the one-year anniversary of The Whiskey Den (House of Witches Book Two). To celebrate, I thought I would give away an eBook copy of The Whiskey Den to one random commenter. So, hop over to this post on my website HERE and leave a comment, and I will pick one random winner on Halloween day.
Good luck!
The Whiskey Den (House of Witches Book Two)
Bad things happen for a reason.
Adam Neive’s expiration date is closer than he would like, and it’s only a matter of time before he loses his position as a Ganymede counter-boy. When a friend helps him secure a part-time job at a whiskey bar, his only thought is to escape the looming shadow of the brothels. He never expected another run-in with the witch Sebastian.
Fourteen months after being booted from his coven, Sebastian has become convinced his brother’s death is connected to the wolves of The Whiskey Den. He just needs Adam’s help to discover how. But things are not always as they seem, and justice is more elusive than expected.
When an announcement from the House of Witches changes everything, Adam will need to choose between life within the safety of the king's Monastery and the uncertainty of the city. While Sebastian will have to decide if his family's honor and the life he thought he had lost forever is worth more than the life he's only begun to realize he wants.
